Maybe This Time - Cabaret

Jessica Goldman, a graduating senior, performs her tender rendition of "Maybe This Time" from the production of CABARET at the University of California- Berkeley.

UC Berkeley is the #1 public institution in the country and while the city of Berkeley and the San Francisco Bay Area are major arts epicenters, the school itself does not offer a musical theatre program, department, or even a class.

Student Zi Alikhan directed this production for Cal's Barestage Productions, a student operated organization on campus. All of the actors are undergraduates, but many have professional theatre credits.

Your pianist is playing a little slowly and therefore it is frustrating your performance. Having to fill "dead" time can be quite a task! HOWEVER, you take it and sound gorgeous. Watch the fists!

Oh, Jessica. From the moment you opened your mouth, I was bowled over by the amazing talent you bring to the stage. You're beautiful, you can dance, you can sing, you can act... You've got one hell of a career ahead of you, and this is coming from a musical theater composer who's very picky about people who do shows. And again, to Zi, Sue-Ting, and everyone in the cast -- great job. You more than did justice to this masterpiece.
