Maybe it's the way how I was taught, but it does sound better without the F# notes, instead play -F- natural. F# sounds too twangy for this, at least to me.

it isn't relly for beginners.. I always play it whit bas but that's not good. and most beginners don't understand notes.. maybe you should think about tabs??

btw I hate to be this guy but at about 1:24 in this video F natural should be played (1st fret high e) in place of the F sharps. If you play the F sharps this song becomes the christian Christmas tune "What Child is This?"
