Common Raven caches mushroom

A Common Raven picks a mushroom, carries it briefly, pushes it into the sod, and on the third try gathers leafy material to hide the cache. Shot in Juneau, Alaska (July, 2008)

Birds are the most wonderful creatures God put on this earth. They're smart and beautiful!!

Parents, don't be like my dumb father and buy your sons a bb gun because they'll more than likely shoot birds for "the fun of it."

Buy your kids cameras and/or art supplies ... and tell them to cherish these creatures by studying them and reading up on them.

God did not put these wonderful animals on the planet to be used as targets (as my stupid dad thought)!

@guyNbluejeans If I might add, I do not feel that birds should be kept as pets. They should be allowed to fly free. Anytime I see a bird in a cage, I see a crime against a living creature. They are ment to fly.

@guyNbluejeans If you do not have the mental capacity to understand evolution or you have never been taugh evolution i am afraid i cannot help you there. If you chose to beleive a book that says light was created before the sun be my guest, also if you want to beleive a book that clearly states that a woman was the last animal created in order to please Adam than be my guest. Or maybe you beleive in the quran wich states that the sun disends into a lake up mud at night than be my guest.

@Hectom8 If the bird could talk it would tell you that it had nothing to do with creating its own existence, just as you didn't create your own self. You have some type of ax to grind against God, thus you play your little game of "there is no such thing as God." But there are a few debates in this world that I don't even waste my time with, and this is one of them.

@guyNbluejeans I have a right to exersise freedom of expression. I am simply saying that you give credit to a GOD for having created a bird such as this, but god didnt create anything. That bird evolved over an extremely long period of time and you should give credit to the bird for being able to find food thanks to its intelligence. Dont thank god for somethign you should be thanking the bird for.
