This is an AWESOME, live duet performance of the song ~ Spinnin' Of The World featuring Lindsey (my fave) and the late John Stewart!! This clip is from a 1982 Kingston Trio & Friends Reunion special. (This was taped in Valencia, CA in 1981.)

If you like this performance, check out my other posting (from this same reunion special). Here is a direct link to it ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49u5Vgvjp7k

Lindsey and John remained friends for many years. In fact, Lindsey even performed a very moving song at his funeral last year.

Enjoy!! ~Jackie (:

  • I saw this when it originally aired on PBS. Tommy Smothers was hilarious. Would love to see this in its entirety.

  • @Nefarioso - well, yes and no. Stewart was no fool and wanted the best platform for those songs - so the leads on many of them are sung by Bob Shane, who had the best voice in the group by far and one of the great voices of the pop-folk era.

  • I love Lindsey!!!!!

  • Oh, Lindsey. Be still my beating heart. *swoon*.

  • Thanks for posting this. A great tune, featured on "Bombs away..." Wish that an B-Nicks would be re-released as remastered versions.

  • This song was originally on the Kingston Trio album CHILDREN OF THE MORNING. For all you John Stewart fans, it's essentially a Stewart album (he wrote 10 of the 12 songs on it) with Bob Shane and Nick Reynolds backing him up.

  • @foppa123 Bombs Away Dream Babies is an amazing album. It's one of those albums that I keep going back to over and over along with ELO's Out of The Blue, Gorillaz's Demon Days, Black Flag's Damaged and The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. Just a well made album.

  • I remember watching this when it originally aired on WQED. Great stuff. Thanks for posting this.

  • In the early 8O's it was hard in France to see such a concert.I got a recording from TV in NTSC.I asked a company to transcode it but it was very very expensive;.. So an employee did me a favor and I understand he filmed the screen with a camcorder without telling his boss so I first saw the document almost witout any colours.LMuch later of course I bought the DVD in full colours.Great memories Thanks for posting.

  • These guys were great together.
