The instrumentation does get sent to computers, and the normal operation is done via monitor (you can see one @2:36, for example), but the internal control systems are largely analogue, and can always be accessed and operated in the event of a software failure.
It's just another layer of safety, or the computers are a layer of convenience, depending on how you look at it.
