@pingbns I am a nationally certified car seat technician...They do have rear facing seats for toddlers...check the manufacturer's guidlines on convertible and those "all-in-one" seats. Some of them allow children to remain rear-facing up to 40 or 50 lbs.

Like he said rear-facing is the safest option, I wish they provide rear-facing seats to toddlers too it's safer than Fracing fracing for them too not just an infant.

Well, I guess you and people you know were lucky - not because you weren´t strapped in but because you never got injured in a car crash. However, child safety seats were invented because other children did get injured and did die in car crashes when you were a child. Children are not small versions of adults in terms of bones, muscles and organ tissue

Also it's a good variant on survival of the fittest. THe world's population is now at peak levels, so we need to try to breed a tougher generation of people.
So in other words, if your child isn't capable of surviving being catapulted through a car windscreen at 60mph, he/she just ain't good enough!
