http://www.abc.net.au/tv/qanda | Q&A panellists Christopher Pyne; Lee Rhiannon, Paul McGeough, Nicola Roxon and Sandy Gutman (Austen Tayshus) discuss whether we are living in a nanny state.
@Darusdei Yep, Australia have been banning and censoring video games, so people end up smuggling illegal games from abroad. I just couldn't believe it at first.
@Darusdei certain video games had to have content removed because we had no R rating classification for video games. that got changed recently so we now have an R rating. didnt stop much getting in though. cant think of 1 game off the top of my head that didnt get in. i know they had to remove the prostitution level/scene from GTA, but you could still do everything else which seems strange to me.
@Darusdei The problem with video games here is that there is no R18+ rating for them. They're not banned, there's just no legal rating for some of the more adult-oriented stuff (which is simply due to a lack of foresight and flexibility). The board is currently considering options regarding this and taking submissions from the public.
The last cigarette advertisement is nothing to do abaout smoking.. I hate smoking , my girl friend smokes, I drink ~ we both know both are not good for us..
The Nanny ad as far as we are concerned is not about the plain wrap cigarettes -
It IS about the bloody arses that are taking over EVERY aspect of our being, our lives ~
We are ALL being dictated to ~ being totally controlled ~
Officialdom is taking over..

Its plain and clear that the cigarette industry in ausstralia is on its last legs. The latest commercial by the tobacco industry is a hopeless attempt to convince that cigarette smoking is not as harmful as it is. This new campaign by the tobacco industry is at the least insulting to the intelligence of the Australian public and at the worst a deceptive and morally wrong campaign for the tobacco industry to justify its ill gotten gains. Its just plain disgusting.
I've got serious flatulence!
