The British queen is the biggest farmer of the world
-
@DLandonCole Yes, i like it too.
-
@seanthedonconsidine we get more money back from the royal familly than we do paying them, tourism etc
-
@Obasiliasfilosofos Well, this is where the people of that area must decide whether or not they wish to continue being represented by such "national celebrities", or if they are better off constructing their own currency, leadership, government, etc.
-
@DLandonCole I can go with that. I must admit to not knowing much about his politics. I don't own a TV and I rarely read newspapers, so I have no idea what members of the Royal family are up to.
I get most of my news from the BBC on-line, and generally don't pay much attention to celeb and/or royal family stories.

Like I said the national celebrities as you call them, Are not just a British question... I know most Canadians having worked and talked don't want to have Prince Charles ugly face on the back of their Loonies and Twoonies..
In Canada we have the "French issue", The former french colonials of lower canada and Acadia whom jolly old England's Gallant general Lord Wolfe conquered, don't like the fact our head of state is a descendant of those same Anglo monarchs..
What do you think of The Guardian?

@procritic09 I like it and read it often. It's probably the newspaper I buy second most often after the FT. Obviously, it has a bias but it doesn't try to hide that. The news reporting is pretty good and they have a decent set of commentators.

The British Monarchy is not just a British issue, Its a Canadian , Australian ,New zealand, As well as a Bajan and Bahamian issue.
Crown republic anyone? Elected monarch? Abolishing the monarchy is not very easy to do, All the treaties and legislation would become void and everything would need to be restarted from scratch..Instead of removing them, I say "change the monarchy" and end hereditary succession and give the people the ability to choose who will be their King.

@Obasiliasfilosofos Actually not an unreasonable way of doing it as it would satisfy the people who want to keep the traditions and so on and is actually a return to how things were done in pre-Norman times, when the King (it was always a he) was elected by the witenagemot, or assembly of the wise.

Aww, damn you Mr Cole. I thought Charlie boy was one of the good guys! Well as royalty goes anyway. Can't deny my liking is bias, as I also talk to plants and try to be green. Excellent video and excellent points :)

@DeeDemonwitch I think Charles is genuine and committed to the people of the UK but I disagree with his politics and I don't think it's constitutionally appropriate for him to involve himself in politics.
