Nelly Furtado's New Album "Mi Plan"

Hi everyone! I'm Dana Ward at the Clevver TV headquarters in Beverly Hills.

Nelly Furtado is pulling out all the stops when it comes to her music these days. The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter set an all-time record with her latest album, Mi Plan, before its official release. Furtado reportedly became the first North American musician to reach number-1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart with an original Spanish song. In fact, not only is the popular premiere track 'Manos Al Aire' in Spanish, but so is the whole new album.

While this is Furtado's 4th studio LP, it is her first entire non-English song compilation. She's definitely dipped into the Latin music world in the past, with her 2002 duet alongside Juanes for 'Fotografia', another number-1 hit across the world. Plus, Nelly has had great success in previous music endeavors, including overall global sales topping 18-million-dollars, most notably with her last LP, Loose, hitting number-1 in worldwide sales in 2007.

While it's been said that this album blossomed after Nelly hit a wall when attempting to write in English, it's pretty safe to say that with the early popularity of 'Manos Al Aire', the Canadian-Portuguese singer broke through successfully to the other side. Also working on the album includes some of Latin America's best singers and producers including Alejandro Fernandez and Julieta Venegas. Plus, you'll catch Josh Groban being featured on the track Silencio.
