Reserve Unit Shut Down For False Reasons at Kent County, Michigan Sheriff Department

Kent County, Michigan sheriff shuts down the Reserve Unit under false reasoning. The Advance newspaper interviewed Kevin Kelly of the sheriff department and the story was full of lies. There is no merit to what was said in that article and the community wants answers and even more important, they want Sheriff Larry Stelma to resign from his position for lying to the public.
There is no rhyme or reason for the Reserve Unit being shut down. The sheriff made a political move to shut them down because he wanted to see the unit shut down for personal and political reasons. The traffic squad which is a completely volunteer group has their hand in making this happen as they are a group that holds fund raisers for the department. They also have an off shoot company that makes money for the sheriff department and the sheriff wanted them to remain so the department would be able to make some extra money.
Shutting the Reserve Unit down has hurt the community who relied on them for security details at their events and places of business. The sheriff department had absolutely no financial responsibility for this unit and they have lied about this.
Contact your sheriff and let him know you want him to resign today.
