  • Well made video and excellent music, thank you very much.

  • Born in "38' I recogonise Philly as it was then including City Hall on Broad St.

  • Growing up in the 60's alot of the buildings and street lamps were very detailed compared to today, but then, the buildings and street lamps in my time were from back then, most was built by hand, today, just a machine that copies everything.. Its nice to see these old pictures, thanks for posting..

  • amazing photos and music !!

  • Very nice montage. As a person who loves traditional urban design I really appreciate all the shots of sidewalks and storefronts. The musical score was a nice touch too.

  • Thanks awfully, but my hearts broken, i want to go there, loved it!

  • Buddy is accompanied by - in fact the record is credited to - a then struggling bandleader by the name of BENNY GOODMAN. Later in 1934 he would hit on radio and in '35 take the country by storm...

I appreciate these pictures because they don't just show the '30s of memory: New York, the Dustbowl, Appalachia and Hollywood - you see small, busy cities, with businesses looking tidy and proud.

  • I love this . . great job and thanks for the wonderful memories of the 'dirty 30's' . this is a classic, my friend. Thanks!

  • good thing about back then we were all nice to each other and everything was american made
