- XP Bootup time from PC start to desktop: 32s
- Time from dual boot menu to desktop: 16s

When Desktop is reached, it is fully responsive as demonstrated.

Running Windows XP SP2 with all updates (on a Vista/XP dual boot) and using a 'Vista-like' theme. Windows has full functionality, it is not crippled or artificially stripped back. This is my standard setup for everyday PC usage, gaming, etc. and does not require any further modification to run any programs (e.g. I don't have to enable any additional services or startup programs just to get things to work).

The system has been completely optimized using the TweakGuides Tweaking Companion: http://www.tweakguides.com/TGTC.html

The PC is an X2 4400+, 2GB RAM, 8800GTS 640MB with Raptor hard drives. Nothing is overclocked or modified beyond normal specs. The full System specs are here:
http://www.tweakguides.com/Hardcon_2.html#System

PS - Video is poor quality as it is from a SE W880i phone camera :)

  • The main reason why it's shorter than everyone elses Vista boot time is because you use Rapotor disk drives, but you don't tell that in your video, you just hide it in your description of your video.

  • Find another system with raptor drives that boots up as fast.

  • Maybe if you actually read the TweakGuides Tweaking Companion - which I have clearly stated is the document upon which all my optimization is based - instead of promoting your "expertise" and ranting on about deceptions, then you'd see precisely how I have my system configured, which services I have enabled and disabled, how I've set up my PC security and so forth. Then you might understand that there is no trick.

Anyway feel free to doubt me, I'm not here to "convert" you.

  • Anyone who doesn't have anti-spyware, descent firewall that blocks outgoing traffic, virus scanner, etc running is just a fool, especially on XP. Deny it and I invite you to go to Wilders Security Forums and convince people over there too.

And that's just security software, there are lots of other programs that are useful to run in the system bar. What the heck is the purpose of buying a 2008 system when you run it like I configured windows 3.11 workstations 13/14 years ago?

  • I'm not sure if you're being deliberately thick, or just here to post annoying comments. I have full PC security - multiple malware scanners, full functionality in every aspect of Windows, I can run games, applications and everything else on this system without any changes. Either read the guide or please stop commenting on things you clearly are giving no thought to.

  • Actually, turning off services makes your boot time SLOWER in vista for one.

Two, no Virus Scanner is part of tweaking, as you can find other ways to have just as much security without a performance loss.

Also, Koroush was not flaming you or anything in anyway, so there is no reason to be so rude. Stop trying to put down a good thing, as nothing comes out of it

  • so, for the average customer who don't need to pay for 2GB of ram and just need to use office programs, vista will be slow, will not perform better than XP and will waste valuable resources useful for other apps. when a system with just 512MB and XP can do it flawlesly. this is why i agree with many anti vista sites.

  • @66oc So, I'm a fool? Anti-spyware, anti-virus, are useless programs to the experienced PC user that just slow the computer down. I don't use any of them. And mind you, I had my last virus 6 years ago :-)

Bet you're one of those idiots that buy a $3000 PC so that it can run MS-Word and 30 other processes that just waste resources... and then you complain that your PC is too slow and you just buy a new one BAHAHAHAHA faggot.

  • @XxDeathXD lolz so do mine and it was brought RIGHT DIRECTLY BEfore vista came out!!!!!
