  • The power and beauty. By far the most powerful tuba mirum of any Requiem.

  • first time i see karajan =-O wow

  • Karajan was an amazing conductor

  • @klins061 It's my favorite too, I lost my sleep when first heard it. The way Verdi prepares with the trumpets what is about to come. A preparation that activates frase by frase my mind for a "musical scene" of wrath. May be this wrath is in myself. If it is to say something for Verdi's style, I feel that he coulden't "escape" from the mentality of a man who composes opera. If I didn't know that it is a requiem, I' d call that opera.

  • enorme y es increible que una persona no tenga buen gusto!

  • i love the drama of how the bass quietly repeats "Mors" (Death) alone...

  • @nysound agreed. but this performance is still pretty good ;)

  • This was always my favorite part of Verdi's Requiem. The gigantic, climactic section, so powerful, so passionate. This version never ceases to send shivers down my spine! Gut gemacht!

  • rotary trumpet sounds better for this
