Weed is not a powerful drug, nor is it harmful - it's less harmful than tobacco or alcohol. Weed alone will not cause you to live in sewers nor would it have ruined your uncle's life in that way.

He must have been seriously deprived of any excitement or sense of adventure during his childhood to make him lose it once he tried a joint. He sounds like a complete moron to be honest.
