Inoculating the Minnesota Food Forest with primo edible mushrooms.
My choices this season were:
Shiitake
Maitake
Lion's Mane
Turkey Tail
Oyster (because there are SO many poplars on the property
Chicken of the Woods...
Next year Ill be getting reishi, chaga, and more maitakes....
I didnt use wax because it doubles the time involved, and capping about 1500 holes with wax did not sound appealing to me. Its optional, so I skipped it. If you have someone helping you, go for the wax....just in case.

that is so cool! I had no idea that that was how it was done. You did 1500 holes. That's dedication :) I'm guessing it was fun and hard to stop until you were beat and tired. Where did you get your inoculation pegs from Anthony?

Super easy way to add food to your property. I just finished plugging shiitake, turkey tail, and reishi.
Next season I hope to add in the edibles like chicken of the woods, and lions mane.
