Whoever did this, it's not an English speaker. Así no se habla el inglés. "Do be friendly and humble", it should be; "Be friendly and humble". Take all the Dos, dude. The "do nots" are fine, but not the "dos". I mean you can but in some specific occasions, not here.

"Gringo" may be an offensive word in Mexico or the Caribbean. In Chile, it's neutral and just means "white caucasian", "non native spanish-speaker" from US, Europe or Australia. Think of "Hispanic" or "Latin" in the US or Europe.
In the extremely unlikely situation that someone really wanted to offend you , they'd say like "gringo culeado" (fckn G.), or "gringo weón" (dumb G.), etc. :P

I'm chilean, and I think this is pretty accurate, though there's no need to come over with expensive gifts when invited to a Chilean's house. A bootle of wine or flowers for the host's wife, should be fine. Too expensive gifts would be like O_o.
Chileans are pretty much european in terms of manners, and US customs are well known through the media and Internet, so don't worry about learning 'exotic' rituals or anything. Just feel at home.
