This video is the lecture on Machete use, by Aguilar, senior instructor for Randall Adventure Training, RAT. Aguilar explains the benefits of a machete in the jungle. The 17 machete that he has in his hands is a Bellota. RAT training is administered by the same makers and designers of RAT cutlery. They will be conducting many classes in the states, in the upcoming future

  • awesome, good enough to revisit again this year if I can swing it.

  • Excellent instruction! Nothing in nature has a 20 inch steel tooth like a man with a machete. Here in Central Brazil we use shorter machetes, the long blades are rarely necessary. They are either in the sheath or in the hand, no options on that rule. I got a kick out of the ant shower warning, been there done that, got the welts. Nature teaches like a Nun with a ruler.

  • I learned that trip with paper wasps. Evil Hymenoptera abound.

  • How was that course? I was thinking about doing it!

  • @Colhane Interesting, what do you think of the special forces blade/golok/perang? it's shorter and thicker for heavier use ....might be a better choice

  • Very useful. Thx for sharing.
