obviously never heard of pine needle tea, he walks past many, many pine tree's and not a mention.

I have to say this guy does the same thing thru out his series, he is reasonably good at what he does but for fuck sakes mix it up a little. Also put a BePrepared2Survive neck survival kit on, any one who ventures out in the bush with out at least this minimal kit deserves to suffer and then die.

@stanthema I agree that bear would have no problems surviving on his own in the wild, but I think most people take issue with the way he presents things in his show. He takes stupid and unnecessary risks that if people tried to imitate, they would likely end up seriously hurt or dead. "Let me jump into this frozen pond, just because its here!" An attitude like that in the wild WILL get you killed

What's with all the Les Stroud Vs Bear Grylls? I understand les doesn't have a crew (i like him better for that), but bear is very forward that what he does is a tv show and not an actual guide for survival, also he was in the SAS so we all know he could do this if he had to.

Anybody can fast for a few days and survive! Les's survival strategy seems to be pretty lame. People stranded in the woods either get rescued within a week (and those people usually are the ones who survive anyways) or they are stuck out there for a long term situation and have to survive come what may (the ones they usually find just the remains of). I wanna know how NOT to be one of those. Not how to fast and survive a week. Some Long Term lost folk DO survive. I want to learn how I can too.

considering a huge part of his life has been dedicated to outdoors and survival i don't think he minds getting payed a lot of money to do it.
