The DJ we know as Fergie, AKA Robert Ferguson, from Northern Ireland, has always been a lover of music and a bit of a rebel, playing clubs from the tender age of 13. Influenced by the Northern Irish rave scene including the Hellraiser raves in Belfast where he saw his first international DJs such as Carl Cox and Pablo Gargano, he prefers the 'harder edge' of the music and the driving energy of it, which 'made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on edge'.

In this clip, he talks music through the years, and how the CDJ-2000's have transformed DJing for him. Fergie himself has been in the studio for the past few years and has effortlessly made the transition from Hard House to Underground Techno with support from Sasha, Digweed, Dubfire, Laurent Garnier, Miss Kitten and Slam.

The great advantage of using a laptop and the software available is to actually have the time to focus on the crowd and to have a broader prespective of what to play to cope with it, wich is far more easily acomplished using a computer.

The crashes and what not are a false question if you ask me...i mean it can happen, specially if you are sloppy with the rigg your using for live gigs in terms of configuration etc, but then again, if you do it right, its a very unlikely scenario if you ask me...
