Proud to be Taiwanese!

Over 60 years ago, Taiwan had already evolved to a fairly diversified and advanced society, long before the KMT party fled to Taiwan (from mainland China) in 1949.

Indigenous people of Taiwan (who are closely related to the Austronesian peoples) came to stay here first, perhaps more than 8000 years ago. Then, starting 1600s, Han people from Southeast China (consisting mainly of Hokkien and Hakka), the Dutch, the Spaniard, the Japanese, Asian pirates, the Manchus of Qing Dynasty, the English, and the Finnish were all here before.

Based on recent biological studies, it is estimated that only 20-25% of the genes of present Hakka or Hokkien populations in China originated from northern Han and the majority 75-80% from the southern groups of China. Analysis of human-lymphocyte-antigen study also suggests 13% of Taiwanese aboriginal genes are in the current Taiwanese Hokkien and Hakka gene pools.

In the last 61 years, since the KMT party regime started occupying Taiwan in 1945 (under the directive of USMG General Douglas MacArthur), the multi-cultural attributes long established on Formosa have been adversely suppressed. This led to varying degrees of language death and loss of original cultural identity.

Even though justice is rarely upheld in time here, we believe that whoever consider this beautiful Formosa archipelago as their homeland will eventually prevail in their self-determination. We are proud to be recognized as Taiwanese!

Taiwan is no longer part of china but did u guys know that its called Republic of CHINA well i wont deny that if u live in taiwan u r taiwanese but u r still chinese except for the aboriginals cuz their descendents were never from mainland china

Maybe you should also try to convince the world that Tiebetans, Mongulians, koreans, or even American Indians, or whoever had travelled through the eastern Eurasianic Plate in the past huamn history, were also Chinese! And you could be wrong on your comment that " Taiwan aboriginal [ancestors] were never from the Eurasianic Plate."

Please do more reading on the human genetic studies before you comment further! Do you really know where your ancestors came from?

@theballa96 Are you stupid or something? 85% of Taiwanese have aborigines blood. That's a fact. They did DNA studies and that's what they found. I will send you the paper. 85% of Taiwanese? That's pretty much the entire Minnan population. Because about 15% are non-Minnan Chinese. So the Chinese will have to leave Taiwan. We know the Chinese want our land that's why they are trying to get the aborigines to turn against the Minnan people. Nice try!

*sigh*.....ever since Taiwan left UN....Bejing became known as China's capital....since Taiwa is independant...only China, Korea and Japan know details about aiwan....and Japan is the only one that actually loves and BEFRIENDS taiwan peacfully.
