NBC probably looked at the ratings for each episode and found that the episodes with the cops had higher ratings than those with fire and ems...hence the huge shift to just the cops...still shitty...but that's probably why

I agree it went from an awesome firefighter/paramedic/cop show to just a cop show...which was still good but not as good as it could have been.
