you know what I don't get about that is that how is Hector killed but Useless isn't I mean the dog was effectively on the bomb but still somehow survived unscathed and attended the funeral, I don't think the writers were paying much attention to what they were writing.

He missed his family and didn't want to spend 8 months a year filming in the Highlands anymore.

@motgfan Hey, thanks. Don't suppose you know why the characters Lexie and Archie left. I assume they weren't written out, being as popular as they were?

I've read interviews from Alastair Mackenzie on why he left and itw as basically because he felt he could do no more with Archie and he'd run his course, he also wanted to pursue a film career at that point. In hingsight I think he made a mistake leaving.
Im not sure why Dawn Steele left but right after leaving she did the series "Sea of Souls" so she must have wanted to move on too.
Shame neither returned together :(
