A Hong Kong Government Flying Service (GFS) helicopter Super Puma Mark 2 made a controlled emergency landing in Shing Mun Reservoir around 10.30 am today (December 27) while picking up water from the reservoir for hill fire fighting operation.

Mechanical failure is suspected to be the cause of the emergency landing. Three crew members onboard have safely exited the helicopter. The three crew members did not suffer any injury and were taken to Yan Chai Hospital for further examination.

GFS, Fire Services Department, Hong Kong Police Force and Civil Aviation Department are following up the incident. GFS will set up a team to investigate into the incident.
