Didn't see this game live. Did he sit out the 4th quarter? Last play seems to be towards ending of third quarter.

He got sick during the game and didn't play the 4Q.

The Bark-man has a serious need for upper body strength. Would be great if he could learn the LB position like Clay Matthews or Chris Spielman, he would be a monster. Looks like he will get some good mentors in D'Quell Jackson and Paul Kruger. No LB (except Butkus) could throw aside OL's and Mingo can't either, but he sure can sidestep. Could be a tremendous force on D IF IF IF he learns the position well. Spielman was a basket case about being a student of the game. Made him great.

I would be worried about his weight while making the transition to OLB. He seems like he could probably play ILB if needed or if he busts at OLB.

You also have to take into account that he was asked to contain a lot against the QBs in the SEC. If he played in a 3-4 he would have been asked to get to the QB more, but LSU was more worried about setting the edge and not letting the QB escape. You can see how good of a job he does, he is always in the right position and rarely gives up a lane. And even while doing this he is still able to get tons of pressure on the QB.

Looking at stats, especially in college, is a bad way to judge players.

It's amazing how quick this guy is off the ball. Consistently the first one off the ball causing havoc.

I don't put too much stock into sack numbers. He was extremely disruptive and he drew double teams which freed up Sam Montgomery to put up the sack numbers. Mingo is a monster

He had 4.5 sacks in 2012. It's just strange a player this talented couldn't even manage 5 sacks this year.

best DE I've watched. he's disrupting on nearly every play, and he doesn't even lineup weakside. Pushing people to the side, chopping, sidestepping, spinning, pushing through the middle of 2-3 guys. Definitely top 5.
