The original - and many say the definitive - six-piece line-up of The Psychedelic Furs:- Richard Rep Butler, Duncan Kilburn, John Ashton, Vince Ely, Roger Morris and Tim Butler. Here they appear in studio whilst on their debut tour of the States performing "We Love You" followed by a short interview.

  • When he says the factory. Is Butler talking about "Factory Records"?

  • no , at least not directly. Factory is the place where Andy Warhol set up camp - Factory Records stole their name from Warhol. So, "yes" and "no" is the answer , or maybe more "no" than "yes".

I believe factory in this song pertains to working at a factory. The song relates to British working class life & uses sarcasm to express contempt for the nature of the established order of things. ........."I'm in love with the factory.....I'm in love with the BBC....I'm in love with your TV...their so in love with you & me.......we love you"

  • i dont think he wants be Bowie, in my opinion is better!!!

No Elvis, Beatles, Bowie or Rolling Stones

    1977

  • another british boy who wants to be bowie.

  • @paintedlier uh no... I see no reason why that would make 'factory records' a reference to warhol's 'factory'. The building they converted for use AS factory records was a disaffected (abandoned) factory. So it was a simple, humble name they used to name the 'company'. They would have no interest afaik in using a reference to warhol since it would be boring and irrelevant.
