This was the first I heard of Rene's passing. We went to jr. high in Richmond together. We both were learning to play guitar and were pretty tight. I was very happy for his sucess. Last time he came to play Vallejo we spoke and shared some laughs of the old days. God bless you my old friend. You were a sure enough bluesman.

Smokin'!! I think Chavez is the best female player out there today and Rene is one of the best Bay Area players too, along with Chris Cain, Tommy Castro, Mighty Mike Schermer, Kid Andersen and a few others.
