I'm not an Evanescence fan, but I am a vocalist and that performance sounded bloody awesome to me.... she's putting so much passion and energy into her singing. I'd rather see someone fuckin mean it and hit a few bum notes than see someone clinically reciting their set in a soundproof booth with no feeling...It's nu-metal after all....this is about pain!

Live always sounds weird because it's not overly rehearsed and practiced. When you hear the studio version it's a version that was exactly what they wanted you to hear.
Besides people, have you any idea what happens to the human voice when doing things that strain it? Anyone should know. It's harder to speak. Trying singing in the way she does and see how it feels!
