  • Cool, you got the rocket separation..

  • I absolutely love the shuttle launch 'home video' point of view, the sound is amazing on this vid! I heard car alarms going off in another launch video, can you feel the 'popping' sounds from where you shot the video? One day I'll get there to see one myself (I only have 3 years to do it!!), I was just hoping you could tell me.

  • "wwwoooookkkk at dhaaatt"

  • Get your head out the way bitch

  • @foxtype1973 Well, golly gee...I'm so terribly sorry our enthusiasm at watching one of our best friends launch spilled over and ruined the video for you, and that we didn't get the three seconds that you wanted most because the VIP viewing area was crowded. If you want restraint, yeah...go find a press video. It was the only launch I will ever be invited to, our dear friend was on the orbiter, and it was exciting. We thoughtlessly did NOT have you in mind when we shot this. *gasp!* Gads!

  • @ThunderHead72 Yes, you definitely feel the popping...it just hits you in the chest and is very cool. It's one of the things I remember most about the launch...that, and the incredible brightness! I hope you've gotten to see a launch by now. If you haven't, try hard to see one of the remaining two. You won't ever forget it.

  • @JediGTI Yeah, we actually got it by sheer happenstance. We didn't know we had it until we viewed the video later! That was an exciting discovery!

  • @NetzBlogR We were watching the launch with a friend associated with NASA, who has been to a few launches. We thought it was the pad on the right, but he said no, it was the one on the left. The one on the right looked empty from our viewpoint because of how the RSS is positioned when it's rolled back from the orbiter, so we believed him. Oops! :-)

  • The funny thing is: At least 3 people filmed the wrong launch pad until they were told to take the right one to have the right one...

  • I watched this launch from about the same area. You don't hear the sound of the rocket engines for about 30 seconds, then it hits you right in the chest. Sorry to see the program end.

  • The sound. I will never forget... I saw STS-3... the Columbia on its third mission in person. The very first time they did not paint the ext. tank white.
