YouTube mirror of John Romero's DOOM development video.
"In 1993, Dan Linton, owner of a hugely successful BBS called Software Creations, visited Texas and made his way to id Software. This is the footage he recorded one night in November 1993.
Shown are several of id's employees at the time: Jay Wilbur, Shawn Green, John Romero, Dave Taylor, Sandy Petersen and Adrian Carmack, Bobby Prince was visiting to finish the music and create the sound effects.
This video has 21 minutes me John Romero playing DOOM before the sound effects were put in as well as some early deathmatching with Shawn Green."
wanting to bash them into the door in front of me (not the exit one) because of the anger...

lol The music in this version of E1M3 is perfect for this vid - "Waiting for Romero to Play" from Doom ][ - Except Romero's already playing. lol I remember how annoying was the beginning of The Courtyard - I was stuck in some room with two doors in front of me - One is the exit, which is shut, and the other is another door, which wouldn't open if I tried to open it. All of this with fitting elevator music in the background. After a while I couldn't take it anymore and switched to the fists,

@agrimm61 actually, a lot of doom music is inspired by metal music, a couple of them by pantera

Ah interesting. Although I rarely play DOOM on Nightmare skill, it is always good to have the option, as it's so damn hard. I don't think I'd ever be able to finish the game on Nightmare and that's great because I've always got a goal to aim for. Much better than if the game was too easy.

I owned 1.1 and I think 200% armor is the highest. However one piece of trivia: 1.1 and 1.0 didn't have
the nightmare skill level. That came in 1.2.
