Did you have any trouble with unwanted AM radio signals? Any suggestions about
how to filter these out? I was thinking a large Cap will work but not sure where
to place it.

It looks like a Power Mite 2. Very rare. Please don't modify from original electronics or enclosure design? It's a bit of Ten-Tec history you have there.
