Le Cohen, le visage enfoui dans son châle de prière tend ses mains vers lassemblée, ses doigts sont séparés et ses paumes tendues vers lextérieur, on sait quen cet instant, repose sur lui la Présence Divine.
Incité par le Hazan, le Cohen entonne sobrement les mots sacrés de la bénédiction (Nombres 6, 24-26) « Que D.ieu te bénisse et te garde. Que D.ieu fasse briller Sa face sur toi et quIl soit indulgent à ton égard. Que D.ieu lève Sa face sur toi et quIl te donne la paix ».

At my Shul a our Kohanim are a Father and his 2 sons. I love when they bless us!

@ICR68 The Cohanim stand in the front, facing the people. You can see this in the beginning of the video (40 seconds in and 2:47 also), when some are covered with the tallit and holding their hands up underneath it. You are correct that the people are not supposed to look at the Cohanim while receiving the blessing, but it is not recommended to turn away from them either.

Can you tell me where the kohanim would be standing during this blessing video? As I understand it, the people would either be covered by their tallis or facing the other way so not to see the Shin. Is that correct? Todah rabah.

Was hier passiert ist das Birchas Kohanim.

Wo die Angehoerigen der Priesterklasse (Kohanim, das Nachkommen Arons) das Volk segnen. Auf dem Lautsprecher redet jemand feierlich die Zeilen des Segens, der Reihe nach aus, und die Kohanim die in der Masse stehen, wiederholen es.

''Der Herr segne und behüte dich. Der Herr lasse sein Angesicht über dich leuchten und sei dir gnädig. Der Herr wende sein Angesicht dir zu und schenke dir Heil.''
