For all of these years I thought I knew, (that) fishin was something I loved to do.
Me and my son would take out our boat, or just sit there on old bank and wait.
Drinking hot coffee first thing in the morning, warming up beans, or
Scrambling eggs. Casting our lines into shady deep waters
Just taking the time that it takes. Fishing on rivers and lakes.

Reeling in memories.trolling for fate.casting off cares of the day.
Each cast is a hope (and) each hope is a gift, imagining all that we may.
Just taking the time that it takes.




But now that hes grown and out on his own, our handsome young son
Were so proud ofI finally realize that it wasnt just fishing that showed me
Such rare kinds of joy. It only seemed special because I was sharing those times
With my own special boy.
