@cooparius A bunch of the 80s cartoons were rather dark. Thundercats for instance~ 8 survivors of an entire race with a home planet destroyed. It carried over into the 90s a bit with shows like Sonic (SatAM) with Robotnik having basically won before the first episode aired. I wish more cartoons would have a more mature spin to them.

Crazy stuff! Bravestarr was supposed to be black originally with a jerry curl but the producers were not comfortable with the idea. Well according to wikepedia.

I didnt watch this very often but i always remember 'speed of the puma' in the playground, anyone else think it was a bit dark and twisted for kids? either way a great toon

Probably the best afternoon cartoon Filmation released, and one of the most underrated.

It must be great when even your horse is willing to get up on it's hind legs and start pumping some serious lead into any motherfucking foe that dares cross you. They sure don't make anything like this for kids anymore. Amazing!

His town there sort of looks like the one Taarna went to in Heavy Metal.
