First, the MicroTransponder device is the size of a grain of sand, or 100 times smaller than current neurostimulators. Second, it doesn't require surgery for implantation, rather, a simple injection using a hypodermic needle implants the wireless, battery-less simulators. Third, patients target the area of pain, turn it on and control their relief wirelessly by using either a PDA or a laptop.
