Yes this will happen if the eccentric bushing is out of alignment. Loosen the screw on the eccentric bushing and adjust the bearing to the right or left till the sound goes away.

It is true that an un-equalized eccentric will rattle at high RPM, but that is not what this video is demonstrating. If you listen to the sound as I direct the camera, you'll be able to tell that the rattling is coming from top of the DVR motor, not from the eccentric. The problem in this case was that the belt tension was too high, not that the eccentric was un-equalized.

Yes, I talked about this problem with Shopsmith. At first, they thought the eccentric bearing was rattling. I made this little video to show them that the sound was coming from the motor, not the eccentric. The problem turned out to be that I had set the belt tension too high.
