December 21, 2008 - High winds & 18-foot fire sculptures don't mix. That's why the Festival Of LIghts Celebration was cancelled for 2008. The organizers hope to try and resurrect it for March. Richard Underhill's Kensington Horns and a couple of fire dancers still braved the cold to entertain the assembled throng. Then a Samba Band showed up, and all present had an impromptu parade, which lasted for exactly a block. Poor Great Bob Scott was left behind. They didn't even give him a costume.
Great show of enthusiasm by musicians who braved the cold to entertain the crowds on a night when the organizers pooped out and abandoned a one-night event that they had organized. (?These organizers are theatre producers -- Canadians? "The Show MUST go on!")
