@myfeetlitup Apparently Wipeout Homophobia On Facebook page thinks this is not homophobic. I think it is, but it is just an opinion isn't it? :)

Thanks for the homophobia, Guinness.

Sigh.
1. There's a difference between intentional pelvis touching and accidentally bumping hips.
2. Lots of people have trouble displaying emotion; it's not something inherent to only males. I think it goes a little deeper than being unsure of what angle at which to hug someone; if that were a case, why is there no instructional video for how to hug a woman? Let's not be disingenuous here.
3. Just because something's popular doesn't mean it's right. Homophobia, for example :)

@myfeetlitup 1. Would you want your pelvises to touch if you're just giving somebody a hug? I wouldn't.
2. Even very openly gay men have trouble displaying emotion, not because they're afraid of appearing feminine, but because it's simply not inherently easy for men to do this. Look through the rest of these comments. I'm not the only gay person here who thinks this.
3. I've got 21 thumbs up. Let's see how many you get.

Yeah just because you're gay and don't think something's homophobic doesn't mean it isn't. How is this not homophobic? Oh no! How do we hug without letting our pelvises touch? Because that would be gaaayyyy....which is BAD! We wouldn't wanna look GAY because being gay means you're not a real man!! (see: "man-hug").
Yes some men have trouble displaying emotion and physical affection...because they're afraid of appearing gay or too feminine (so add some sexism in there too).

Great Ad!!!!
I'm gay and I didn't find this offensive at all. Not even one bit. It isn't homophobic at all. It's poking fun at how it's difficult for most men to display emotion to each other. It has nothing to do with homosexuals at all. I'd be willing to bet that none of you idiots complaining are gay. Fuck off and drink some god damn Guinness.

I didn't like the commercial, not because it's homophobic, but because it doesn't reach out to my demographic, but with that said, if you are trying to find the 'gay bashing' in this commercial, perhaps you should play it again... and then again. It touches on the subject that men as a whole have difficulty with intimacy, and that would be ANY male, gay, bi or straight. I think we're trying to find something to fight for... let's fight for LGBT rights to marry & toast w/ a Guinness when we win!
