Chris Drew - Artists Free Speech Movement-Art/Speech for Sale

On location, Nov 13th, Friday, 2009 , Chris Drew, Chicago Founder of the Artist's Free Speech Movement, takes a stand in from of Macy's at 12 noon under the Field's Clock. on State Street. He is there to sell speech and artiist patches from the Uptown Mmulticultural Arts Center screen print workshop for one dollar a piece. Four cops come out to give him a citation to appear in court for violating the current City law which he is fighting against.
This is a victory for Chris. He plans to sue the city for violating Artist's Rights for free speech.

I appreciate your efforts Chris but I fear you have got some problems with your 1st Amendment claim. I am an Artists who fought and won my 1st Amendment Rights to sell my paintings on public forums in the 9th Cir. Court in White v City of Sparks, (2007). Problem is, you were selling other Artists Art.

Selling others art is commercial, subject to license.

Ok first off this is just immature, Chicago cops do some stupid shit, but this isnt one of em. You're in downtown Chicago. Get a permit. Its the law. They werent abusive, they were doing their job. So its like "Way to go! You broke the law and got a ticket! Way to stick it to the man!" Stupid...
