Grand Theft Auto the videogame

I'm afraid I am divided on this issue.

On one hand I think that LEGALLY companies should be free to make and sell the type of video games that they want, and adults should be allowed to play the video games they want. I feel that most users won't be severely harmed by it.

I feel that people should be free to do what they want as long as it does not hurt others.

However on the other hand this video game and sites like it has been used to practice for crimes and the video is designed in such a way that actually seems to glamorize, trivialize and encourage crime and immoral behavior AND there has been cases that this type of video game has actually encouraged and inspired and aided crimes.

I have a foot in both camps. Both sides seem to have good arguments.

I would hope that the manufacturers would have the discretion on their own not to make such garbage and that users wouldn't be so eager to buy such trash. Unfortunately that has not been the case.

I think it would be best for society if there wasn't this type of game, unfortunately to make such a game illegal would be encroaching on freedoms.

that means its up to the player to go on insane killing spree

in fact, the more crime you commit the higher the chance of you have of getting caught and losing money, weapons, items, etc

its the players choice to do whatever he wants because this is basically a virtual realistic world where the player is in control

iM 18 now and though i have grown out of the run and gun shooter gangster style game of GTA, in my past i too spent hours and hours playing GTA: Vice City and GTA san Andreas. . For many people who play these games, they are simply a way to have fun or blow off steam. see I can in myself the devaluation of human life. But at the end of the day... you just got to know the difference between real life and the game. and thats where i drew the line. i still love shooting ghames

Is this show ACTUALLY for real? Or is it just some kind of spoof? If it is actually real then this is a really good example of what we call "propaganda". What's the harm in a game that lets people blow off a litttle steam? If people are being negatively influenced, then all the money attention should go to helping the people who would act like this even before experiencing this title, not banning a quick scapegoat for the blame...

I have this game I think its Awesome. You have freedom to do whatever you want violently without causing harm in real life.

There are no Chainsaws in Grand Theft Auto 4..

And you could play 50 hours of Grand Theft Auto without murdering a single person.. it is like real life.. You can decide to kill people or not... If you kill someone on the game your wanted level goes up.. So it isn't the greatest idea to kill someone.. .. And for the missions where you have to kill people.. They are armed and shooting you most of the time anyway.. And sometimes you can even have the option to let them live
