During autumn 2004, the sun was unusually active, creating beutifull aurora's (northernlight) over areas around and above the polar circle. This 'video' was assembled from a series of pictures taken with a digital camera (Sony Cybershot) on a tripod at 8 second exposure times. Since the aurora looks blurred anyway at the sky, the long exposures do not much harm. The aurora was seen above a lake just north of Ivalo in Finnish Lapland. Revontulet is finnish for: The fox-tails fire.

  • my god what a sound. amazing.

    thank you :)

  • It is a song by Mari Boine, a Sami singer/song-writer. Look her up in MySpace and be amazed by her songs and music!

his particular song is called Ahcai meaning Father in the sami language. If you explore Mari's life and youth, you will find that her father played an important, but not always positive, role in her life. But in her adult life, she started to see the tragedy of her fathers life.

Mari Boine still produces records and tours the world with her band.

i am a big fan of her music!
