The cylinder and steam chest are defintely Stuart. The bore is 2 or 2 1/4" and the stroke is 2" which matches a Stuart 5A. However; the 5A in my catalogs has the dome on the head end of the steam chest. This engine does not as you can see at the end of the video. Any iformation will be appreciated.

  • it doesnt appear to be stuart even a modified stuart it seema like alot of different replacement part put together with a few realy good ideas but if you have any questions about other steamengines i mite be able to help i have 3 of my own and i know alot about them

  • I think what eatmypies means is that this engine was converted from a stuart or similar boiler feed pump hence the valve rod linkage and the addition of a crank and conrod to covert it to a rotary engine after removing the water pump end.

  • this has been modified to run a water reserve tank pump for a much larger stuart, hence the reverse 90deg crank.I tried this once and it blew up in my face,i now have a permanent S on my forehead lol serious you need to be carefull when reversing a horizontal with 20 psi goin thru it nice model tho

  • put a band saw on the other end and crank it up to 90psi

    just kidding!

    nice engine though.

  • Beautiful engine

It runs like a swis watch

  • Would you like to sell that engine?

  • it looks to me like a demonstration of how the valve gear and oiler works on a great weston castle class locomotive
