This is one of the most underrated games of all times. It was released in December 94', 2 months after DoomII. This, and the criticised 90 degree walls were most likely the reasons why it failed.

Fantastic music, fantastic game. After all of these years, I still have more fun with ROTT than with many of today's games. And I *still* discover secrets that I've never seen before.

@ShaggE1771 thing is tho thats the bad thing about COD. i mean its not the only bad thing bout COD but thats one of if not the main reason why it not sucks but its not exacly a classic or an ejoyable game(s). but the thing that really rubs me up the wrong way is the fact people my age and some 20 odd yr old actually take the piss and turn there noses up on games like this and doom. bitching bout the graphuics. generally just nit picking at these old FPS games. ROTT, Doom, Duke 3D will live on

@AzraelX661 I wouldn't say they suck, but they definitely feel like a completely different genre. Hopefully Serious Sam BFE will be a big hit, and we'll see a shift in how shooters are made.

@ShaggE1771 ROTT, Shadow Warrior, Doom, Duke 3D, Blood etc will never die. COD sucks, so does Halo. Old FPS games have that non linear feel to them where theres so many things you can do, the graphics maybe limited but the game its self aint. COD is so boaring, its all this cover shooting crap and "lets do it the tatical way". fuck tactics, just give me a kick ass tune, a big fucking gun and i'll go kick a fucking door down and shoot the fuck out of things. they just dont make em like they did

I'm so glad I still have a working CD. But I can't get WinROTT to work off of it. I'd love to listen to these tracks while blasting away some brainwashed thugs with a firebomb.

I just randomly decided to listen to this, and DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN! I once upon a time made this my theme! And whenever I felt down or de-motivated I just listened to this one and I was back on track.

Then I lost track of this theme, that was like 10 years ago :(

Me I don't hate it. Just the only thing it had over the Doom games around at the same time was the soundtrack. (RoTT's soundtrack definitely rocks. Whereas Doom had mediocre music at best. (I'd even say poor music.)

However otherwise Doom is just plain superior. The level designs (Not all blocks), the weapons, the enemy designs, much more creative and entertaining.
