AN ATELIER ANAUT ART PROJECT......2011
"Zaragoza Visual Symphony"
by
Felix Anaut in collaboration with Gonzalo Alonso & Marta Almajano
After two years of preparation the Zaragoza Visual Symphony is finally to be launched. This has been a project that the artist has been dreaming to bring to fruition since 1995, when he "composed" his first symphony, "The Daroca Symphony". This first project was a homage to the early music festival of Daroca (Spain), and was a series of large works on paper expressing different movements, Allegro, Andante, etc., a visual symphony. His dream was to extend this project to include music based on the paintings.
This has now been realised, with the "Zaragoza Visual Symphony", a homage to Felix's birth city, and to the region of Aragon.
Inspired by chamber music from the Baroque period, Felix started creating images, sketches, preludes of musical compositions, which finally ended up as a series of large canvases: his visual symphony.
Taking inspiration from the visual symphony the acclaimed Spanish composer, Gonzalo Alonso, has composed a piece in two movements, for string and piano. The second movement includes an aria "Lamentum", the words written by Felix, an artistic manifesto, and sung by the international soprano Marta Almajano. It is a synaesthesia and coming together of different mediums to create one inseparable piece, a unique project.
The whole event is being hosted in the galleries of the Caja Rural de Aragon Foundation (Cajalon) in Zaragoza (Spain). The evening will include a life performance of the Zaragoza Symphony, and the opening of the exhibition, with its very original installation put together by curators Carlos Buil and Ricardo Marco. Also included will be a video of the making of the event, and the launch of the catalogue and c.d. recording of the symphony.

I love the smooth pans... ...to be honest the cuts are a bit jarring. Better to cross fade...
I really like the paintings. Where do you show?
