They are effect at what they do as non-lethal, crippling weapons, but the problem is they are too desperate a measure, and are infinitely hard and costly to remove if the need ever arises. More often then not, non-targets are the ones that suffer the most.

Even if that 10% is still fierce, getting the rest of the people to work together against them in unity will help. As long as the nations start behaving with each other, or at least make an attempt to do so, tensions will decrease. Yes, there are always going to be people who won't be pleased regardless of what happens. But, I do believe that peace can happen if people are willing to work for it and to admit that no sides can get 100% of what they want. Maybe I'm an optimist.

I hope you are right but I see a flaw. There is a difference from the Irish situation. The Arabs want Jews dead, and they have said so. Not like they are trying to hide it. I don't mean all Arabs....it only takes that 10% to ruin it. And now the Iranians are getting in there. They are saying they are ready to embrace death if it means destroying the Israeli state. The PLO and Hamas aren't interested land for peace...they want Jews dead...no negotiations...I prefer your outlook..I hope I'm wrong.
