Fitted a new 25.6volt 10AH LIFEpo4 battery from China, replacing the original 2 x 12volt 7.2AH lead acid set up. This has reduced weight, increased range from 5 miles to 25+ miles and added a couple of miles per hour to the unassisted speed! I had to replace the supplied charger as it developed a fault after the 1st use with a variable voltage 5 AH one from EBay, but I did get a replacement from China free of charge so now have one at work to use as a top up for the ride home.

  • the tire clearance is too tight. that is not 72 mm; more like 12mm.

How long does it take to recharge to 90%.

  • The clearance is from the down tube to the tyre, and when the bracket for the motor is fitted the clearance to the tyre is probably nearer 8mm than 12. As for the charge I guess it depends on how low the battery got to but I guestimate I take about 50 to 60% of a fully charged battery and it takes about 90 mins. to the charger shut off which takes the battery to 28.2 volts

  • Is this battery come from ping ebay? is it has a BMS?I'd like to buy lifePOH for my cyclone from ebay not from cyclone web

  • Not PING as at the time his where £120 more. So I took a change on another supplier who is no longer registered!

It has been laid up due to the snow but has been going fine, just needed a rear gear due to me not changing the chain when I should have. None of the water issues mentioned. So so far well worth the money

  • Possibly, you would need a good cradle to secure it and watch out it does not get in the way of your legs . But lower down wouild be better for bike balance

  • I'm getting a 48v20ah lifepo4 battery, do you think it's possible to mount that battery in the middle of the back below the rider?

  • From China via Ebay and it cost about £102, it is fitted to a 250/360watt motor - sold to me as 250watt but I am not 100% sure as no rating label and it takes 14 amps on load so would suggest a 360watt?

  • Where did you get the battery and how much?

Is your cyclone 180W or 250W?

  • Pink Floyd......ANywho, what are the numbers with that setup?
