This is called pankration. It is an Greek fighting art. During the ancient times soldiers who couldn't afford gear for battle had to come up with a deadly system of hand to hand combat. Eventually it became part of the olympics. It was a brutal sport in which contenders would often die rather than submit to their opponents. If you think that this is odd and brutal, consider the difference. In Greece it was fought by grown men, naked, and own cement.

These two boys absolutely could NOT wrestle unless that music was playing. Then again, maybe for the music to play, these two boys HAD to be wrestling. Because EVERYTIME they stopped wrestling, so did the music. Mmmm?

was punching allowed? I only ask because they seem to let the odd sly one go, they are wearing mouth guards and they often seem tempted to raise their fists when they stand and face off. Good fight, would have been interesting to see them box or wrestle in a ring. Would like to see more of this competition.
