I just bought one of these in a liquidation sale and it hits a ton.
I noticed the sound was odd as well but I thought it was just the protective tape they used so I could try it out.

I had a cheap old driver for the last 8 years. I bought a FT-iQ driver two weeks ago. I played 9 holes with the driver. It was in credible. I missed the ball twice off my tee. My distance improved by ca.40% or more. I could not believe my distance. I also had a better control on my slices. Unfortunately, I was playing by myself. I can't wait to get out there in a group..

I just bought this club recently. I've only hit 1 bucket of balls at the range, and played my first round with it yesterday, and I love it! I'm not getting a big jump in the distance compared to my old driver, but I'm hitting it dead straight almost every time.....the distance will come. It's got a unique sound when hit in the sweet spot, but nothing terrible, like some of the things I've read on here. You will gather some attention when you start hitting it at the range, that's for sure.

His follow through is wrong for swining a driver. He's coming off his front foot which is an iron swing

dont worry about the vans... your swing looked 10xs better as the """"""local pro""""""""

Yeah, this driver is so damn loud especially when you hit the ball hard. I just recently got one and it hurt my left ear; not to mention that i now hit balls out of the range. Everyone at the range was watching me hit, and one person was like, "That kid should be playing with the pros." This driver kicks ass!

They're not. I thought they were a piece of crap and it turns out my friend bought one. I hit my usual 3 wood 230metres down the fairway but then i hit his driver and it went 250metre carry over the trees DEAD STRAIGHT. I couldn't believe it.

FTi is straight with distance, FT5 is for the golfer who can shape it off the tee. If you aren't single figures, stay away from the Ft5 as you will be kidding yourself. Its built for the draw/fade guys. lets face it, all double figure handicappers want to do is smash it down the fairway, straight. so go FTi....FORE
