Detroit 3 Los Angeles 1

This was the final game of Karl Malone's career and the final game Gary Payton and Shaquille O'Neal (as well as most of the Lakers other than Kobe) would play in the Purple & Gold. Pistons' defense dominated this series, and if not for Bryant's heroics in game 2, the Pistons would've swept away the Lakers. Chauncey Billups continued to shut down Gary Payton, and the Lakers would search for a 3rd option behind KB8 and Snaq - they would never find it.

Bryant finishes with:
24 points
3 rebounds
4 assists
1 steal
3 turnovers
7/21 on field goals
0/2 on three pointers
10/11 on free throws

  • seriously Jack Nicholson - you pay all that money to take time off work.. fly out to Michigan, get courtside seats..to watch the game live.... and keep your sunglasses on??

  • i think seansawx is a pistons hater

  • @Ldale11 i think rasheed wallace and ben our good big men and jordan would have to take a back seat ot shaq plus pistons only won this 1 against a problematiclakers TEAM LOLOLOL pistons iz a fluke

  • lakers suck!

  • @Ldale11 huh? what are u tryna say?

  • @dapunisher1000 Stacked? They had Shaq & Kobe, Fischer was a good pg along w/ Payton, but GP, Malone, Grant, Fox & Russell were too old. The team was closer to "stacked" w/ Horry, Harper and Shaw.

  • @shallehalle Exactly! That's another reason he' was overrated for so long. He sot 41-43% to Shaq's 58-60%, but Kobe just HAD to have the most shots per game again and again, even if it meant they lost. He HAD to have the most points, unless Phil got on his ass.

  • @YTCustoms He did, which is why I don't understand why he let Ginobli school him in the 05 finals.

  • @MrEdHizay Kobe wasn't hurt. He shot lousy. You call Elden Campbell a "killer" big man? And that's the Flakers mgt. own fault for not getting Shaq better backup. They still made the finals. And Horace Grant was 38 years old & avg.d 4 points a game. Please! And Jordan didn't take a back seat to any one!

  • @lorenllbj88 Wtf do you think Boston played? Damn, it was only 3 years ago.
