  • the one thing i don't understand is why the omega metroid is straonger than the alpha. the word omega is usually used as an expression of being last or worst and alpha is used as meaning first or better.

  • @Nomis095 According to the Greek Alphabet on Wikipedia, Alpha is the first letter and has a value of 1. Omega is the last in the alphabet, and it has a value of 800.

  • You forgot Hunter Metroids and Dark Tallon Metroids and the Metroid Hatcher from the prime series

  • @Tprevie This is the SR388 Metroid Evolution. Tallon Metroids (type of Metroids on Tallon IV) only can evolve into Hunters on Tallon IV, Dark Tallon Metroids are Tallon Metroids enhanced by the Ing through dark matter exposure on Aether and Hatchers are an evolution of Phazon Metroids, which usually are found on the Space Pirate Homeworld.

  • UPDATE!

I am currently putting annotations because the WMM text is hard to read.

  • Why is pikmin 2 stuff in the suggestion bar?!

  • the evoultion of the metriod was a fantastic idea.....its too bad it appeared in such a crappy gameboy game

aw well, at least the omega metriod appears in fusion and the others makes cameos in the background (exsect for the queen)

  • Just for those who don't know.

This is the life cycle of original metroids. Metroids that you see in the Metroid Prime series are phazon induced metroids and are technically not part of the life cycle.

    As for Metroid Prime.....hohoho.

Well the Impact Crater itself is a Leviathan Seed. Metroid Prime is in that Leviathan Seed. And thus the Chozo built their temple around it so they could block it off. Metroid Prime produces infinite phazon but is killed by Samus.

  • What song is that? Great music, I love the metroid series

  • @Itsakitchenfire Ugh.. play MP3: Corruption. It is hard to explain what leviathans are without spoiling too much.

  • @Reaperonatricycle i see. what is the tallon IV leviathan?

  • @Itsakitchenfire Fission Metroids are Tallon Metroids altered through Phazon exposure. One of those was chosen by the Tallon IV Leviathan to be the Core Guardian, drastically altering its physical appearance and raising its power to obscene levels (Metroid Prime).

Eventually, Prime would absorb the Phazon Core and - in the japanese version - later be captured by the Space Pirates, only to absorb their weapon and defense systems (creating the exoskeleton).

  • @Nomis095 Alpha is commonly used to indicate something is in its beginnings while Omega indicates something is in its final stage or something has ended - in this case a metroid's evolution.

Alpha and Omega are of course nods to the greek alphabet again.

Compare it to the Alpha and Beta versions of MMOs. (Those keep evolving though so there is no such thing as an Omega version.)

  • what about fission and fusion metroids? where exactly do they spawn? and also metroid prime. i spose those are the only specialties

  • @fattyvid right! omega is the last and and worst
