It looks like you still have Linux Mint 7. Did you like Linux Mint 8? i kind of miss Linux Mint because it was a fun and easy OS, but I love what I have.

I have tried Ubuntu 9.10 but found it too buggy especially with recordmydesktop and Flash so I've decided against switching.
What distro do you have?

I recently put Ubuntu 9.10 on my Laptop and could not get it all to work together myself. Ubuntu is still kind of a mixed bag because 9.10 Karmic Koala has got most excellent reviews all over.
Trust me when I say this - Xubuntu 9.10 pretty much has it all together. It obviously works off Ubuntu and has all the same Canonical Updates, but its own dedicated support team does a superb job making it work, so that we have very little work to do after in the end.

@stmpoodle Xubuntu is an excellent alternative of Ubuntu, with lower system requirements. I had been running Xubuntu before and it was an excellent experience. However, it might be because I am familiar to the GNOME interface, I found the functions and controls implemented on XFCE lacking a bit of features GNOME has.
Maybe I should try out Xubuntu again on some other day!

Wow, You sure have a lot of Distro ISO's in your hard drive. Go Linux!

Well, it's an excellent experience to try out multiple distros instead of sticking with just one. Each distro has a different flavour.
